Yet again, summer has gone by in a flash. No sooner had we taken the flip flops out of back the cupboard, the days started getting shorter and a crispness started to fill the air.
Whilst we wont lounging in the sun drinking Pimm’s for another year, there’s plenty that the nation’s favourite season still has to offer. Not only is it now acceptable to make permanent residency on the sofa from 6pm until bedtime most evenings, but it’s the season to invest in a new set of wooly jumpers, indulge in as much hot chocolate as you want and transform your whole look from summer to autumn.
The make-up and fashion industries are at their peak during the nation’s favourite season. Everyone loves the rich, warm colours that Autumn’s theme brings into every aspect of life; from home décor to food, make-up to fashion.
This Autumn we want to show you some of the best looks that Autumn 2017 has to offer and how you can achieve them.
Smokey Eyes ft Red
Smokey eyes have always been a classic look coming into the cooler seasons so it’s not surprise that Alberta Ferretti showcased them at this year’s Fashion week. However, what was new was the firey red that had been coupled with it.
We all saw this coming after the release of Urban Decay’s new Heat Palette but not being coupled with such dark smokey eyes – what a treat it was! Get this look by getting your hands on our Sleek I-Divine Eyeshadow Palette.
Taupe and Grey Smokey eyes
Again, no surprise with the smokey eyes here but this year, Mimi Tran have shaken it up by using taupes, greys, creams and shimmers to create this stunning sultry, subtle and soft smokey eye that is more than perfect for autumn.
To achieve this look, we recommend going for our Ben Nye Essential Eye Shadow Pressed Colour Palette.
Autumn make-up is often about really enhancing your already-there assets by using natural colouring such as browns, dark pinks, purples and greys. This is exactly what Erin Featherston is championing for Autumn 2017. Her look shows off smudgy eyeliner mixed with strong brows, gentle bronzer and rosy stained lips.
Similarly to most other designers this season, Elie Saab has gone for super bold eyes in this year’s Fashion Week boasting black eye shadow with accents of metallic glitter. Due to the boldness of this eye make-up, we recommend keeping all other make-up minimal to avoid overdoing it.
Classic Lip and Flick
This classic kitten flick with red lips is showing once again why it’s a classic. This look is ideal for any type of occasion during autumn; from work to parties, dates to lectures. Once again, this proves itself to be the perfect make-up combination and one that we love.
To imitate, we recommend using Stargazer's Matte Lipstick in colour 211. If the look is too matte for you, rub some vaseline over the top for a more glossy look. For the perfect flick, use Stargazer's Liquid Eyeliner in black.
It’s all about the blush-rose for Marchesa this season. We love this subtle but beautiful look that aims to accentuate your three primary facial assets: eyes, cheeks and lips. Usually considered a spring look, this pretty in pink make-up is surprisingly autumnal.
Use Ben Nye's Creme Rouge Blusher in Carnation Pink to rouge up your cheeks, Stargazer Semi-Permanent Lip Stain Pen in colour 02 for a perfect pink pout and our Sleek Eye & Cheek Palette - See You At Midnight for your eyes (or your cheeks too!)
We adore this bright, bold and daring look from Pucci. Rather than just colouring your eyelids, why not go the whole hog and change your lash colour to neon and make your eyes pop like never before?
We have the absolute perfect product for this: PaintGlow UV EyeMascara in Pink
Another eyelid focus here has shown that an ice-queen look can still look delicate. This lilac-silver lid look from Francesco Scognamiglio at the Autumn Winter show this year has us desperate to cover our eyes in all thing shimmery.
Create your own icey peepers by using vaseline to cover your eyelids before applying Stargazer Eye Dust Loose Eyeshadow Powder - No.15
It’s all about the Lips
We love this super cool blood-stained lip look from Giambattista Valli. Unlike a lot of the other looks we’ve seen, this style focuses purely on the lips giving it quite a stern and strong appearance that is absolutely fabulous.
Whilst they’ve chosen red for this look, you can also head for purples and browns and create the same beautiful autumnal look.
We suggest trying IMAN Luxury Moisturising Lipsticks in Teak to achieve these head-turning lips.
